Coronado Around the Island Swim

The Coronado Around the Island Swim was a semi-circumnavigation swim of Coronado Island for relays and solo swimmers, organized annually for several years in the 1990s. The swim started at Glorietta Bay inside San Diego Harbor, proceeded counter-clockwise through the harbor and past Naval Air Station North Island, into the Pacific Ocean, around Zuniga Jetty and then east to the finish at Gator Beach - just across the narrow isthumus from the start. The route was billed as "12 miles," but was actually closer to 11.

In the late 2010s and early 2020s, the swim Coronado Island was revived as a solo swim.
