The Ederle Burke Swim is a 28 km (17.5-mile) race between The Battery (Manhattan Island) and Sandy Hook, New Jersey, organized annually by New York Open Water. It is named after Gertrude Ederle, who swam the route in 1925, and Eileen Burke, a New York public school teacher who participated in the 2010 and 2011 Ederle Swim.
