Comments: "This was my first long distance swimming event. I chose it instead of a few alternatives because of the simplicity of the course, being a straight line from the start to the finish.
I did some research beforehand to expect what the finish would like, however what I didn't realise was that, at 12.5 km away, it was impossible to see the stuff at the finish.
As I didn't understand French there was language barrier during the briefing and I was never sure what feature in the terrain I should aim at for the finish. The organiser mentioned there were feed stations every 2.5 km on the course (4 in total) but I couldn't recognise them, as there were so many boats on the lake and I didn't know how to recognise if the boat was one of the feed station. I actually ended up off the straight line for some distance until I was close enough to France to see the finish arena, where I was guided to the finish."
